Halloween is coming up this week. Please remind your children that we do not allow Halloween costumes to be worn to school. Thank you! Have a great week!
**Important** Federal Surveys are going home on Monday. Please complete and return to school by November 9th. It helps our school qualify for Federal programs and resources.
Big Smiles In-School Dental program will be here December 8th.
They will be providing preventative dental care to students whose parents sign the permission slips. These will be going home with your students on October 30th. Please make sure to turn in the signed permission slips to the office by November 9th! Thank you! |
This week in:
Language Arts– Review text evidence to support the authors Point of View. Incorporate supporting quotations into our writing.
Questions to ask your child: “What is a simile?” (A comparison between two different things using the words “like” or “as”.)
Spelling- Consonant –le syllable pattern
Writing– Opinion Writing. Finish prompt citing 2 sources, “Should Dogs Work?” Begin personal narrative using information from the 2 articles; Write a story from Izzy’s (dog) point of view. Ie, Tell about your day on the job at the airport.
Math– Continue Chapter 7: Division Strategies
Students may practice Math skills at Dreambox.com
Science- Continue unit on Heredity and Genetic Traits.
Questions to ask your child: “How do changes in the environment affect the organisms living in it?” (Think about air and water pollution, fires and invasive plants.)
