This week in:
Language Arts– Review Trickster Tales to prepare for student writing their own. Continue working on the Close Reading strategy and text dependent questions using various KidBiz Articles and works of fiction.
No Spelling Words this week.
Achieve homework “Take One, Leave One”. Activity Questions only, No Thought Question this week so that students may focus on their Trickster Tale.
Social Studies- Wrapping up our unit on the U.S. Government. Here are some questions to ask your child about; What do they know about the U.S. Constitution? Why was it written? What are the three branches of government? Why are there three branches?
Writing– Continue graphic organizers and rough draft of students own trickster tale!
Math– Begin study of Area and Perimeter. We will continue to spiral back and revisit fractions. Students may log on to Think Central to practice current lessons by clicking on “Interactive Student Edition”. The Go Math!/ Think Central web page link is on the right of this page. “Step by Step” help is available during the Personal Math Trainer portion of the lesson. Lesson videos can be found within each lesson, or by going to “Math on the Spot Videos”.
A math homework sheet is coming home for students to practice what we are learning in class.
